Cheap french food?

Decked in TJM's twiggy dress and C&K furry clutch to...........

Purvis Street!!!!

So recently, one of my friends recommended Saveur to me. They said it was yummy, hawker turned restaurant food, french food and.... CHEAP!!!! That was really the word that drew me to the restaurant, cos I mean where do you find cheap french food???

And, this place is called Saveur!

My very kind bestfriend came all the way from the east to the west to pick me up then drove back to Purvis street (near national library) for dinner <3

We ordered a starter dish - Angel hair pasta with sherry minced pork and sakura ebi ($3.90!!!)
Yup WTF a bowl of pasta costs $3.90 in a restaurant......
Alistair and I didn't really like it but apparently it's a popular starter among the crowd. Guess we didn't really dig the shrimp taste.

I ordered a set of soft roll bread ($2) for myself also. It was pretty nice but not fantastic.

What seemed like a cup of coffee is probably my favorite starter - Mushroom soup cappuccino ($4.90)
I got a shock when I heard the words forming from the waitress' mouth. Like omg how funky can it get??? Mushroom soup and coffee as one??? But nope, it's just mushroom soup in a coffee cup. It's pretty thick and very mushroomy and i really like it!

My duck confit with orange segment and sauteed shittake ($9.90)! Let's say this is like heaven on a plate. It's damn nice for a $9.90 duck confit! Portion was perfect for me too. Duck was a bit dry but Alistair said it's meant to be like that. Point is, you can forgo everything above but you got to try this when you're there. Sweet.

It comes with nice mashed potato too!!

And the blackish thing is Alistair's beef bourguignon with root vege and mixed greens ($13.90). I can't really remember if he liked it but I think he said it was not bad for the price he paid.

Saveur is the place to go when you're feeling some affordable french food. Don't pin your hopes too high for authentic atas french food, but rather think of yourself in a french canteen (: pocket-friendly prices, why not right?

We looked so horrible and tired so pardon our faces. This is our only photo together that day!

What's a night without dessert, says sweet tooth me ^^
Close friends around me know that I'm ALWAYS asking for cake or ice cream after a meal. I kid you not when I say sometimes I eat ice cream more than twice a day.

So we headed to Holland V for 2am dessert bar to chill.

I can't remember what tea I had but it wasn't nice so don't bother. The churros and hot chocolate dip ($10) were pretty yumz though. Churros were very fragrant!

2am dessert bar prices are pretty steep so be prepared to pay $15-$20 for a slice of cake/dessert!

I need to tune my body clock again cos I've been sleeping at 4am and waking up at 1pm.
That's so unhealthy and my complexion is going down again :(

It's already 3.33am and I really should sleep. Goodnight!
